"…The inspiration behind this collection was my great gandmother’s venetian
mirror, and so for our Artist Collaboration Program this season, we had the
pleasure of working with The talented Arwa Albaqsami, known for her
beautiful mirrored art, into creating an artwork inspired by Hâshé’s Reflection
Collection”. – Ava Hashemi
The designer’s Ava Hashemi’s statement that elegance is the single most stylish and affordable item found in a woman’s closet, was the underlying assumption of the House of Hâshé Spring-Summer 2015 fashion show when Ava Hashemi showcased her highly creative, luscious and sophisticated collection.
Although her very first collection was showcased in 2012 in Boston she considers the current Spring-Summer 2015 collection as her debut in the fashion world. Initially launching her line with custom-made clutches Ava has expanded her brand with high-end ready-to-wear designs, which exhibit a current spin to the old-world elegance.
This season's approach is fresh and contemporary, as Ava plays with volumes and shapes. Linear and well structured silhouettes added an chic look that also had an edge!
So what is Ava's secret? Ava Hashemi is of Persian origins, but raised in the United Arab Emirates. She draws inspiration from Middle Eastern art and architecture, which emerges through her complex cuts and graphic contours.
An alluring avant-garde style runs through the House of Hâshé Spring-Summer 2015 collection. A perfect blend of vivid colours and delicate pastels like pale pink, crème and nude generates original and balanced collection where each piece is unique. Current themes - wide leg pants and colours like yellow and white – blend contemporary innovation with classic style that will never be outdated. Piece's we love include a black and white asymmetric dress, pale pink and white trousers and a gown in yellow and red, which epitomise the aesthetic flair of the young designer.
Ava Hashemi masterfully plays with a boundary between youthful bite and pure elegance. Ava’s designs simultaneously incorporate girly and chic. Romance is in evidence through embroidery of the reflective glass butterflies, lightweight ruffles and layering.
Ava Hashemi is creating her own recognizable signature by applying her own geometric shapes, which explains the absolute love for architecture - look at the amazing outfit of pink trousers with cocoon navy skirt and asymmetrical blush pink top! However, expanding her collection from custom-made clutches to high fashioned prêt-à-porter is not one step, but a series of staircases which she has created to challenge herself, and climbed. Her success makes this journey look effortless, but this is a hallmark of success!
